Savannah Homes at Jaguar Reef is located south of the Garifuna Village of Hopkins in the Stann Creek District of Belize, and South of Dangriga Town. Considered by many to be the cultural center of the Garifuna population, Hopkins has been named as “The Friendliest Village in Belize“, and welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and a safe environment. Many of the residents of Hopkins are happy to share the history of the Garifuna and their local customs. This small community houses restaurants, small bars, gift shops, a variety of affordable hotel accommodations and an impressive collections of high end resorts on the southern end of the village center. Roughly 1,500 residents call Hopkins their home and work in the fishing, farming and hospitality industries. The relaxed, laid-back lifestyle may make living here seem like your on a permanent vacation, however, neighbouring areas still provide all the necessities for families living here year-round, such as schools, hospitals, and places of worship. The village is also a launching point for a wide array of small islands and cayes in Southern waters off the coast of Belize.
